No. I am.
I can’t turn water into wine but I can turn your website from below-average to amazing.
It will seem like a miracle if you’re not tech or design-savvy.
On threads the other day, a Lawyer put up the following post:
“I just saw a post in a FB group where a lawyer was quoted $10-30K for a WordPress Website. This is a genuine question, no shade intended, but what kind of work would be needed such that the cost of a website would be $30K?
Is Jesus building it?
I could maybe understand a site that sells a lot of stuff, like maybe a Macys or something but or a law firm website on WordPress?”
This post was met with a lot of judgment, seeing comments like; “what? Have you seen what lawyers bill?”
I get the want to defend the pricing of web design, because we have a hard enough job as it is, especially when the work we do, isn’t guaranteed to deliver an ROI.
But in this instance, we do have the opportunity to educate others better.
Because pricing is a funny thing.
We can see that in any aspect of life, not just as web designers.
Just recently Emily Mariko, known for her recipes on TikTok released her first products - two farmer tote bags, and people lost it.
Not because of the product - which was very on-brand, but because one tote bag was $120, and this was the focal point regardless of the production, materials, etc.
